OUR UL LISTED PRODUCTS

Both our GT-11 and GT-7 high pressure Safety Caps have been tested and approved by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Our Safety Caps were put through a series of test by UL to ensure that they would provide an acceptable level of protection to the cylinder valve on high pressure cylinders while allowing for the regulator to remain attached.

This approval from UL, led to the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) concluding that the “use of the Griftan Safety Caps in place of the Department of Transportation (DOT) one piece safety cap for all situations in which installed caps are required by OSHA regulations is acceptable”. OSHA further stated that our Safety Caps”may be used with a regulator installed providing the procedures used assure compliance with the regulations”.

The approval we received from both UL and OSHA then led to the acceptance of our Safety Caps by both the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT).
